Housing Process: Step One
Housing Intent & Adding a Roommate
February 3-14
The myHousing Portal becomes active on February 3rd at 9 am and closes on February 14th at midnight.
The date and time you complete Step One do not determine the priority number or time slot for selecting a housing assignment.
- Log in to myCampus > My Accounts > myHousing.
- An announcement that the portal is open will be sent to your Â鶹ÊÓƵ email account.
- Provide some basic demographic information about yourself and your parents/guardians.
- Pick a statement on the Housing Intent page that best describes your housing needs and complete the Roommate Questionnaire, Roommate Profile, and Add Roommates page.
- You are done with Step One: Housing Intent & Adding a Roommate.
You will be given information about the housing process by your RD. This may be in the form of a required meeting or an email outlining the process. You will also receive detailed information and step-by-step instructions from the Residence Life Office. Watch your Â鶹ÊÓƵ email account for details.
Adding a Roommate
The Add Roommates page will be open and you will have two options:
- Roommate Search
- Browse for a roommate match
Roommate Search: You can search by your friends first name, last name, or Â鶹ÊÓƵ email address. Your preferred roommate will not show if they haven’t started their housing application for next semester.
Browse for roommate match: If you do not have a preferred roommate, you can use the browsing function on the Add Roommates page to search for a compatible roommate.
Roommate Categories & Singles
Pairs/Groups
You have a preferred roommate or group of roommates. Time slot order is based on hours plus status as part of a Pair or Single. Pairs are assigned time slots that come before Singles and assignment order goes from seniors (90+ hours) and ends with continuing freshmen (under 30 hours).
Singles
You do not have a preferred roommate. Students in this category will receive later time slots for room/apartment selection. Assignment order will start with seniors (90+ hours) and end with continuing freshmen (under 30 hours).
Time Slots
Time slots are the specific log in time for room selection and are determined based on hours earned + hours in progress. The room selection process will be split between two categories - Pairs/Groups and Singles. If you verified a roommate(s) on the Add Roommates page, you will receive a time slot that will allow you to select space before residents who are singles. Sign up will occur in the following order:
- Pairs/Groups: Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, Continuing Freshmen
- Singles: Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, Continuing Freshmen
Time slots will be broken down into groups of up to 25 for each time slot. This will mean that a group of students will be given simultaneous access to the room selection page.
